Our four day itinerary is designed for travellers passing through Southern Italy who want a guided small group tour that goes far beyond the surface. This is a chance to explore one of the most beautiful coastal towns in Calabria, meet local producers, and enjoy meaningful food and wine experiences without rushing.
We settle into life in Tropea, wander its historic centre, taste regional specialties, and get to know family run food shops and places locals love. We cook together in the hills, spend time with the people who grow and make our ingredients, visit a family olive estate, and enjoy a private boat trip along the coast at sunset. It is relaxed, hands on, and full of genuine connection to this part of Italy.

Day One
Arrival in Tropea
Private transfer from Lamezia Terme Airport or train station.
Settle into your accommodation and enjoy free time to explore the historic centre, the sea views, and the charming lanes at your leisure.
Day Two
Centro Storico and Cooking in the Hills
Late morning guided walk through Tropea’s Centro Storico. We visit our favourite little eateries, gelaterie, and family run food stores while discovering the architecture, piazzas, and panoramic corners that reveal the charm of this seaside town.
In the afternoon we head into the hills above Tropea for a full hands on cooking class at a family run agriturismo. Before cooking we tour the gardens where we see seasonal produce, fruit trees, and olive trees that inspire many of the dishes we prepare.
This is not only a pasta class. Together we prepare a complete menu featuring local seafood, meat, and seasonal vegetables. When everything is ready we sit under a canopy of grapevines and enjoy the dishes we created along with local wines. We finish with a surprise homemade dessert from Laura and her house made liqueurs.
Day Three
Olive Oil Experience, Vineyard Wine Pairing, and Sunset Boat Ride
In the late morning we head to a family owned olive estate in the hills just above Tropea. Alongside the owners you are guided through the terraced olive groves to learn how olives are grown, picked, and pressed. You will also see a demonstration of the traditional olive picking method and can take part in it, making this a very hands on experience. We finish with a tasting of their estate made extra virgin olive oil and a small selection of delicacies prepared on the property.
We then continue to a private vineyard known for producing distinguished Calabrian wines that are enjoyed throughout Italy. The vineyard is surrounded by ancient vines that have been lovingly revived, and the property has deep generational roots. Here we enjoy a wine pairing lunch featuring a home cooked meal prepared by the owner’s mother, along with four estate wines including their prized Passito dessert wine. It is an intimate experience among the vines with authentic family hospitality and traditional flavours.
In the early evening we board a private boat for a sunset sail along the coast. There is time to swim in calm waters, enjoy an aperitivo on board, and see Tropea from the sea as the medieval town glows above the cliffs in the evening light. A special perspective of Tropea that few visitors experience.
Day Four
Departure Day
Private transfer to the airport or train station.
Arrivederci and see you again in Calabria.
