Day 1

Transfer to your hotel in Frascati and settle in before your welcome dinner at a prominent restaurant.

Day 2

Cooking class with Sora Anna Dente

For this cooking lesson and meal you’ll be in the company of the internationally acclaimed chef, Anna Dente, who will guide you personally, step by step, through her famous recipes. At the conclusion of the class, you’ll enjoy the authentic dishes you’ve created with Anna in her osteria.

After lunch, your personal tour guide will take you to visit Palestrina, a bustling town literally built on the ruins of a massive ancient Roman temple overlooking the fertile valley below. Here you can stroll through remarkable streets and alleyways as you explore the architectural marvels and impressive artistry of the complex.

Spend the rest of the evening at your leisure. We will recommend a choice of restaurants, as long as you’ve saved room from your meal with Sora Anna!

Day 3

Your morning will be free to explore the town of Frascati, do some shopping , or just relax.

Mid -afternoon we’ll take an excursion to Tusculum, situated high on a rolling hill with sweeping views, and home in ancient times to Roman nobles who built sumptuous villas there. A wonderful location for an invigorating “passeggiata”.

Later we’ll head to the town of Castel Gandolfo for a wine tasting in a cantina which boasts 3000 labels. Dinner will follow in an elegant atmosphere overlooking the lake of Albano in a noted restaurant. The restaurant’s selection of DOC wines is included.

Day 4

After breakfast we’ll pick you up and take you to the picturesque town of Nemi, overlooking the lake of the same name.

You’ll enjoy an aperitivo of prosecco and wild strawberries and visit local merchants and friends to taste examples of the local fare.

From town, we’ll descend into the crater to the vineyard of Maria and Carlo by the edge of the lake, where our cooking class will take place. Maria owned a trattoria in the area for more than 20 years and is very skilled in the art of roman cuisine. She will teach you her specialties while you soak up the atmosphere of the beautiful, rustic setting.

After lunch we’ll visit the famous and partially restored Temple of Diana, close by and also at lake’s edge.

Enjoy the rest of the evening at your leisure.

Day 5

Morning tour to Genzano. Genzano is the town famous for it's bread production. Locals flock to Genzano every morning for their loaves of bread. We will visit a local bread maker where you will soon understand why.

From Genzano we will then visit some of the highest towns of the Castelli Romani which boast spectacular views of the Roman country side.

We'll lunch at a local trattoria in Marino. Our recommendation is to taste the famous authentic Roman pizza, a specialty of this favorite eatery.

Transport back to Frascati and enjoy the rest of your day at your own leisure.

Day 6

Today we’ll head to Ariccia to lunch outside the Chigi Villa, after a short walking tour of the town. The villa was designed by Gian Lorenzo Bernini and a tour can be arranged on request.

Today you’ll experience a Roman Sunday tradition – lunch at a fraschetta. You’ll savor a wide variety of antipasti, including the famous porchetta, followed by pasta and meat dishes. Porchetta is slow-cooked, oven roasted and seasoned pork. This aromatic dish is allowed to cool to room temperature, then eaten with the famous DOC bread of Genzano. Experiencing a fraschetta will be a memorable dining experience.

Enjoy a farewell dinner with our friend and fabulous cook, Signora Laura, in her home among the vineyards outside the town of Lanuvio. Laura loves to cook for our guests. She’ll prepare dishes passed down by generations and recreated in her own distinct style. You won’t want to miss out on this. Laura is famous for producing the best dolci (sweets) in town.

Day 7

Transfer to airport.
