Your setting is magical as you spend a relaxing and insightful day gazing at the houses embedded on the cliff of Tropea or just to simply take in the glorious sun and swim in the aqua blue sea of Tropea..

You’ll learn to identify the local fish caught in these waters which play a major role in the cuisine of Calabria’s coast.

Learn how to clean and prepare your fish for a wonderful seafood lunch on board Francesco’s fishing boat.

A native from Tropea and experienced fisherman, Francesco was practically born sailing the waters of Tropea. A retired physical education professor has now dedicated his life to sailing the Calabrian coast and fishing most mornings.

Francesco knows the exact spots in the sea where he guarantees his catch.

The morning is spent learning from his techniques on catching local fish from the Tropean waters close by from the town of Tropea.

After you’ve caught your fish, learn the technique of cleaning and preparing the days catch and then learn to cook delicious, fresh seafood dishes on his boat.

You’ll prepare with Francesco pasta sauces including the days catch as your main ingredient. Fresh grilled fish and Calabrese wines are included also. You’ll enjoy your lunch on his boat as you admire the lovely views of Tropea

Day’s schedule

• Meet at the port of Tropea 9.00 am.
• Set sail with Francesco.
• Fishing and cooking instruction.
• Lunch on board with local Calabrian wines included.
• Return to Tropea’s port at approximately 2 pm.
